One AL scout compared Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp to Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano, in the sense that both players lack baseball instincts and struggle to improve. Kemp, who is set to be a free agent after the 2012 season, is having the worst year of his career, posting a .251 average with 23 home runs and a .311 on-base percentage.
Coincidentally, Soriano is hitting .256 this season with 22 home runs and a .317 on-base percentage. The Dodgers are expected to shop Matt Kemp this offseason, and will certainly be selling low after his atrocious season.
A team like the Mets or Marlins could look to make a deal, and the same can be said for the Angels and Mariners who both have varying degrees of interest in impending free agent Carl Crawford.
