Red Sox to decline Bill Hall's club option

The Red Sox are expected to decline Bill Hall's 9.25 million dollar club option for the 2011 season, according to the Boston Globe. Hall has regressed mightily from the .280 hitter he was back in '05-'06, hitting just .229 over his past four seasons.

Hall will be 31 next season and despite putting up 17 home runs, has failed to do anything productive otherwise. He can play a variety of positions, but saw the majority of his action this season at second base and left field.
