There is a lot of speculation about the future of Ozzie Guillen on the South Side, with most people thinking his "irreparable" relationship with GM Kenny Williams will force the two to split. Guillen's contract holds a club option for 2012, so he has nothing guaranteed beyond next season.
Guillen has hinted that he would like a long-term extension beyond next season, but he is in a tough spot now that the White Sox are mathematically out of contention. Further, both owner Jerry Reinsdorf and Williams declined to discuss Guillen's future at this time, meaning the team could still be discussing the next course of action.
If Guillen decides not to manage on the South Side in '11, it seems to be a foregone conclusion that he would go manage the Marlins. Guillen used to be a coach for the Marlins, and would gel with the Marlins Latino base, both on and off the field.
