Scott Boras finished off two more deals tonight, as both Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez have signed with the Tampa Bay Rays.
One of the two will be manning left field for the Rays on a nightly basis, and both are not exactly known for their stellar defense.
According to Jon Heyman, who broke the story, Damon will be paid $5.25 million and Ramirez $2 million.
Both Damon and Ramirez lost suitors in the Angels and Blue Jays when the two teams agreed to a trade with each other that solved needs for both clubs. Boras moved quickly in getting the deals done after the trade.
After an offseason so far when the Rays collected draft picks while watching their stars go elsewhere, they have now picked up two former stars that are still valuable.
