Milwaukee Brewers Looking For Short Stop?

The Milwaukee Brewers are looking for help at the short stop position, according to reports. However, Brewers GM Doug Melvin continues to defend Yuienesky Betancourt, who was their short stop last season, leading many to believe that they may just stick with their 2011 SS.

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says the Melvin has not talked to free agent short stop Jose Reyes since their first phone conversation much earlier in this off season. Reyes was connected to the Brewers earlier this off season, but those rumors seemed to die down fast.

They are also interested in Philadelphia Phillies short stop Jimmy Rollins tweets Danny Knobler from CBSSports.com, and the Brewers met with Houston Astros free agent short stop Clint Barmes earlier today. They might also be looking at Rafael Furcal, coming off of his World Series championship with the St. Louis Cardinals.

What do you think? Who will be the Brewers short stop on Opening Day of 2012?
