Florida Marlins Rumors: Jose Reyes, Prince Fielder, Yoenis Cespedes

Some news and rumors from the Florida Marlins.

  • Michael Jong of Fish Stripes says that the Florida Marlins are pursuing Yoenis Cespedes, who was declared a free agent by Major League Baseball today.
  • Jerry Cransick of ESPN tweets that the Marlins will be pursuing first basemen Prince Fielder and Albert Pujols. The Marlins have been known for their low payrolls, but this season they are moving into a new stadium, and they might need a new face of the franchise if they plan to move Hanley Ramirez.
  • Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald said that the Marlins were very eager on contacting free agent shortstop Jose Reyes, and are in talks from him. This again raises the question, do the Marlins want to move on from Ramirez?
  • Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweets that the Marlins are interested and heavily pursuing CJ Wilson and Mark Buehrle. They could look at other left handed pitching options, but after today Jonathan Sanchez is out of the picture.
