Milwaukee Brewers Sign Aramis Ramirez

Bruce Levine from ESPN Chicago is reporting that free agent third baseman Aaramis Ramirez has agreed to a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers. It is a three year deal being reported to be in the range of $34mm.

The Brewers needed a big bat with the threat of Prince Fielder leaving and now with Ryan Braun likely facing a fifty game suspension to start out the regular season. Ramirez looked like he was on the down side of this career late with the Cubs until he hit .306 on the season. Ramirez is also a Type B free agent, so the Cubs will receive a supplemental round draft pick as compensation.

This makes you wonder if the Brewers will look to trade their current third baseman Casey McGehee. The Brewers may just non tender him if they cannot find a trade partner. The Brewers have a whole new left side of the infield now, after Alex Gonzalez agreed to be their shortstop.
