Josh Willingham Agrees to Deal with Twins

According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, outfielder Josh Willingham has agreed to sign with the Minnesota Twins, pending a physical. Unsurprisingly, the deal is for multiple years, but the exact number is not yet determined. Willingham, 32, hit .246/.332/.477 in 136 games with the Oakland Athletics this year, while setting a career high in home runs (29).

Over his career, he owns a .262/.361/.475 line. He's spent the vast majority of his time as a left fielder, but Minnesota might slot him in right field. In addition, he did DH in 36 games in 2011, and given his defensive limitations, he could see some extended time there as well.
