Where Were We? MLBDD Week 51 in Review

While we wipe the sleep, egg nog, and various other objects from our still-tired eyes, let's take a moment to answer, "where were we?" Here's a review of the trades and transactions we covered during week 51:

• Padres Sign Jeremy Hermida to a Minor League Deal - MLB Daily Dish
  Jerry Crasnick is reporting the San Diego Padres have signed Jeremy Hermida to a minor league deal.
• Diamondbacks Sign Jason Kubel - MLB Daily Dish
  The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed Jason Kubel to a 2-year, $15 million deal (krasovic / heyman). Ken Rosenthal confirms the report and suggests Kubel will play in left field for the Diamondbacks, which likely makes Gerrado Parra their forth outfielder:
• Nationals to Sign Mike Cameron - MLB Daily Dish
  Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Washington Nationals have signed Mike Cameron, beating out presumed interest by the Cleveland Indians. Terms are unknown, but it is likely a minor league contract...
• Kansas City Royals Sign Yuniesky Betancourt - MLB Daily Dish
  Today, the Kansas City Royals have announced that they have signed short stop Yuniesky Betancourt.

• John Danks, White Sox Agree to Five-Year Deal - MLB Daily Dish
  According to Jon Heyman, the Chicago White Sox have agreed to a five-year deal with left-handed starting pitcher John Danks, pending a physical. Danks, 26, was entering his final year of arbitration eligibility.
• Minnesota Twins, Jason Marquis Close To Agreement - MLB Daily Dish
  According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Minnesota Twins and free-agent right-handed pitcher Jason Marquis are close to a deal. Marquis hit the open market after finishing a two-year, $15 million deal he signed with the Washington Nationals. If the sides can hammer out a deal, Marquis will be pitching for an American League team for the first time in his twelve year career...
• Nationals, Mark DeRosa Nearing Deal - MLB Daily Dish
  The Washington Nationals are close to signing free-agent infielder Mark DeRosa, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, and will sign a one-year major league deal where he'll serve as the Nats' super utility guy (think spork with a toothpick and a stamp licker) and a right-handed hitter off the bench:
• Washington Nationals To Acquire Gio Gonzalez - MLB Daily Dish
  After weeks of rumors, it looks like the Washington Nationals have gotten their man. ESPN's Keith Law is reporting that the Nationals and the Oakland Athletics have reportedly agreed to a five-player deal that will send lefty starter Gio Gonzalez to D.C. in exchange for catcher Derek Norris and pitchers A.J. Cole, Brad Peacock and Tom Milone.
• Cardinals, Carlos Beltran Agree To Two-Year Deal - MLB Daily Dish
  According to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the St. Louis Cardinals and free-agent outfielder Carlos Beltran have agreed upon a two-year deal.
• Cubs Trade Sean Marshall To Reds For Travis Wood, Dave Sappelt, and Ronald Torreyes - MLB Daily Dish

• Cincinnati Reds Claim Josh Judy off Waivers from Indians - MLB Daily Dish
  The Cincinnati Reds have claimed Josh Judy off of waivers from the Cleveland Indians, according to Jordan Bastian. This gives the team additional pitching depth, but whether or not that helps to fill the void from their trade for Sean Marshall remains to be seen...
