While we wait for news on where the marquee free agent of this offseason will land, here's some quick rumors from the AL West:

- Buster Olney said on Twitter that the Red Sox are not that far along in trade discussions involving Athletics' closer Andrew Bailey. Olney also mentions that the Athletics have not asked for Red Sox' 3B prospect Will Middlebrooks.
- Ken Rosenthal mentions that the Nationals, Tigers, Reds, Diamondbacks, Phillies, and Marlins are all pursuing Gonzalez as well. Bob Nightengale confirms that the Diamondbacks are pushing hard to get the left-hander.
- Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times mentioned on Twitter that the Angels are a favorite to sign C.J. Wilson, but are not in contention for Mark Buehrle.

Danny Knobler tweeted that the Tigers did not like the price for Gio Gonzalez, and that it started with RHP Jacob Turner.
