Rockies, Cubs Discussing Ian Stewart For Tyler Colvin Swap

The Colorado Rockies have been the busiest teams on the trade front this offseason, and they aren't done making deals. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Rockies are talking with the Chicago Cubs on a potential deal that would send third baseman Ian Stewart to Chicago for outfielder Tyler Colvin.

ESPN Chicago's Bruce Levine wrote the two teams were discussing a deal involving Ian Stewart from the Rockies throughout the last week.

"During their week of discussions the teams have gone back and forth exchanging possible names in return for the 26-year-old Stewart. Originally, Cubs utilityman Blake DeWitt had been discussed. More recently outfielder Tyler Colvin and infielder DJ LeMahieu have been brought into the discussions."

The Cubs are also taking a look at San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley, as they continue to pursue a replacement for Aramis Ramirez. The Padres are reported to have a high asking price for Headley.
