The Angels have signed free-agent reliever LaTroy Hawkins to a 1-year, $3 million deal (DiGiovanna | Miller). Mike DiGiovanna suggests Hawkins is an ideal set-up man that General Manager Jerry DiPoto was looking for, and should be a nice mentor rookie closer Jordan Walden.
In the meantime, the club continues to pursue C.J. Wilson and they're said to be one of two teams still competing for his services.
