In a move that only a college student on his 21st birthday could get away with, Miguel Cabrera was arrested last night for a DUI, according to ESPN.com. The police report said, among other things, they he was speaking incoherently and even took a swig of scotch in front of the officer.
Cabrera, 27, was spotted by a deputy in a car with its engine smoking alongside a road in Fort Pierce. Inside the vehicle, Cabrera smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and took a swig from a bottle of scotch in front of a deputy, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office said. He refused to cooperate and more deputies were called to the scene.
Classic.
Cabrera will certainly be put under fire for this one, especially with this being the beginning of the season. If he acts up again he may have to go through some rehabilitation clinic, because that is something the Tigers would love to avoid.
Cabrera has five years and a 106 million dollars remaining on his deal through 2015.
