Red Sox closer Jon Papelbon told FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal that he is off to his best start this season, feeling stronger and more confident than ever before.
"I’ll tell you what – the ball is coming out of my hand this spring so far better than it ever has in any other spring training," Papelbon says.
Papelbon went 5-7 with a 3.90 ERA with 76 strike outs, 28 walks, and 37 saves in 65 appearances. However, he set a career high in blown saves with eight.
Papelbon is coming into a contract year off what he considers to be his worst year of his career. He is eager to make the big money next offseason, and will likely be pitching with that in mind all season.
