- Sheldon also wrote that Ryan Hanigan wasn't in the starting lineup because he is still dealing with a sore right hand; X-rays showed no damage.
- Clint Hurdle shuffled his lineup on Sunday, and later commented "I might not be done."
- According to the Houston Chronicle, Jim Crane is "expected this week to announce he has bought the Astros from Drayton McLane for $680 million."
- Blake DeWitt was scheduled to make his first outfield start on Sunday, until the Cubs-Giants game was rained out. He's not expected to start in the outfield when Cubs play in Cincinnati.
