Chatter: Kuroda, Ramirez, Kazmir, Dice-K, Wilpon, De La Rosa

Some chatter for you, folks...

  • River Avenue Blues dissects the Huroki Kuroda market. This is just me, but despite a few bad starts in '11, Huroki Kuroda is one of the more underrated pitchers in the game.
  • According to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post, Nationals Rule 5 Pick Elvin Ramirez will be sidelined for the rest of the season following shoulder surgery. It's not yet known the Nationals plans for him.
  • Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times passes along a quote from Angels pitching coach Mike Butcher saying "[Kazmir] has 30 days to figure out where he is, where he's headed. We're going to give him all the support he needs.
  • According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News, Fred Wilpon strongly considered flying to Chicago to address the Mets. He wisely chose not to, says Martino.
  • Back from a trip to Japan, Daisuke Matsuzaka will head to Dr. Jobe, an arm specialist next week to have his elbow examined, says MLB Network's Peter Gammons. It's still not yet known what Dice-K's diagnosis is.
  • Lastly, Jorge De La Rosa was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament after he was pulled from today's start, according to the Rockies official Twitter feed. De La Rosa will likely have Tommy John Surgery.
