Eckstein Considering Return to MLB?

Yesterday, former infielder and short people hero David Eckstein spoke with the LA Times' Mike DiGiovanni, and he reminded us all that he's not officially retired yet.

While the 2006 World Series MVP also mentioned that, "It totally has to be the right situation," many teams have apparently made the 36-year-old offers, including one that reportedly came in just four weeks ago, but he has yet to decide what direction he'll take with his life.

From all indications, Eckstein is a great guy, and he can still have value in a part-time role for a club that needs middle infield help. It remains to be seen whether he'll be taking his scrippity scrappiness back to the playing field any time soon, but he's apparently fine physically, so it's really just up to him at this point.
