The DL on the DL

Updates from around Major League Baseball on players who are "freshly back" from the disabled list or "newly gone" to the DL.

Freshly Back:
  • Boston Red Sox RHP John Lackey: Lackey was on the DL for a total of 24 days for a strained right elbow. His ERA so far this season is 7.60, so hopefully the time on the DL has allowed him to regain his form. Right-fielder Josh Reddick was sent back to Pawtucket.
  • Chicago White Sox 3B Mark Teahen: Teahen was on the DL for a total of 24 days with a strained right oblique. He has primarily been a backup at third behind rookie Brent Morel. Pitcher Jeff Marquez was designated for assignment.
Newly Gone:
  • No players were sent to the DL on Sunday with the exception of Brandon Belt, who was covered in the Updates on Saturday. Belt was placed on the DL retroactive to June 1st.
