- The Milwaukee Brewers have designated Felipe Lopez for assignment, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel. Lopez, 31, is hitting .182/.245/.182 with 0 extra base hits in 51 plate appearances with the Brewers. The move was made to make room for left-handed pitcher Chris Narveson, who'll be coming off the disabled list.
- The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed right-handed reliever Aaron Heilman to a minor league deal, according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com. Heilman has been assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis. The 32-year-old is joining his third organization this year after being released by the Arizona Diamondbacks last month (link) and the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday (link).
- The Toronto Blue Jays have released left-handed reliever Trever Miller, as expected, according to FAN590's and Blue Jays broadcaster Mile Wilner. Miller, designated for assignment on the 16th of August, should be able to find a job as a lefty specialist somewhere.
