- The New York Yankees have released infielder Terry Tiffee, reports Scranton Times-Tribune's Donnie Collins. Tiffee was playing for the Yankees Triple-A affiliate, and was sporting a slash line of .339/.342/.523. The 32-year-old Tiffee hasn't played at the major-league level since 2008 with the Dodgers.
- The Houston Astros have released left-handed pitcher Douglas Arguello from Class Triple-A Oklahoma City to make room for right-handed pitcher Jeff Fulchino, according to Houston Chronicle's Steve Campbell. Arguello, 26, was posting a 3.67 ERA and 8.0 K/9, but also a poor 6.0 BB/9 in in 68.2 innings of work.
