The Blue Jays have acquired outfielder Dewayne Wise off of outright waivers from the Florida Marlins, as first reported by Jon Morosi of FOX Sports. Wise was designated for assignment on Tuesday to make room on Florida's 25-man roster for outfielder/first baseman Logan Morrison. Wise will be entering his third stint with the Blue Jays organization.

Wise, 33, started the season with the Marlins but was released after not making the roster out of spring training. He then signed with the Blue Jays on a minor league deal, but couldn't make the major-league roster despite hitting .338/.382/.549 with 4 homers in 144 plate appearances at Class Triple-A Las Vegas.

Shi Davidi of SportsNet tweets:

AA (Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos) says Rasmus will go on DL tomorrow, when Wise arrives. Rasmus's wirst not getting better, will need two weeks to recover.

Wise will be able to get some playing time for the next two weeks, with centerfielder Colby Rasmus going on the DL.
