Let's round up yesterday's minor moves:
- The Oakland Athletics designated left-handed pitcher Jerry Blevins for assignment, as first reported by Jane Lee of MLB.com. Lee adds Blevins will clear waivers and report to Class Triple-A Sacramento. Blevins, 27, is posting a 3.80 ERA, 8.4 K/9, and a 5.9 BB/9 across 21 1/3 innings of work in the warehouse that is the Oakland Coliseum.
- The San Francisco Giants designated left-handed pitcher Clayton Tanner for assignment, the team announced. The move was made in order to clear roster space on the 40-man roster for southpaw Erik Surkamp. A former third-round selection in the 2006 draft, the 23-year-old Tanner hasn't made an appearance at the majors yet. He's posting a 4.29 ERA, 6.8 K/9, and a 2.6 BB/9 in his second year at Class Double-A Richmond.
