- The Oakland Athletics outrighted right-handed pitcher Bruce Billings to Class Triple-A Sacramento, according to Jane Lee of MLB.com. The move was made to clear a roster spot for right-handed reliever Neil Wanger. Billings, 25, posted a 5.14 ERA and a 19/13 K/BB ratio in 21 innings for Oakland at the minor league level.
- Left-handed reliever Randy Flores has exercised his right to be a free agent, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel. Flores signed with the Brewers a few weeks back, and was pitching for Class Triple-A Nashville. The 35-year-old Flores will be looking to sign with his fourth organization this year, after being released by the Padres and Yankees earlier in the year.
- The Arizona Diamondbacks released right-handed reliever Jeff Bennett from the organization. Bennett was pitching for Class Triple-A Reno. The 31-year-old Bennett was posting a 4.29 ERA, 5.3 K/9, 4.8 BB/9, and a 1.0 HR/9 in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.
- The Red Sox signed left-handed reliever Trever Miller to a minor league deal. Miller, 38, has been assigned to Class Triple-A Pawtucket. Pawtucket's radio announcer Dan Hoard tweeted the signing.
