As the minor league season nears it's conclusion, that doesn't mean there aren't any interesting topics to discuss. This is when news bits start to flury and really pick up action. With that said, just yesterday the Arizona Fall League rosters were announced, and notable names such as Bryce Harper and Mike Trout head quite a group of special players taking part. More news and notes...
- Cito Culver has played quite a role in the Staten Island Yankees fantastic campaign, and now he finds he and his teammates just a few games from competing in the 1st round of the NYPL post-season. As Brian Moynahan of MiLB.com notes, Culver's growth and success this year is largely due to his even keeled manner.
- Over at Baseball America, J.J. Cooper discussed the second chance given to the Indy League's Jason Stevenson, who, as J.J. notes, has endured quite a career.
- Although there isn't a story attached, the latest edition of MiLB.com's NYPL transactions sheds light on how many moves are made in the last week of the season. Whether it be promoting guys for just a few games of a higher level or giving a first rounder a chance to hang with his new teammates, lots of action does take place. For instance, even though there's a slim chance they see game action before the season ends, Josh Bell and Gerrit Cole will be with the State College Spikes of the New York Penn League.
