MLB Leftovers, Tidbits, Nibbles:
- Jon Heyman is reporting via twitter that Colby Rasmus has hired Beverly Hills Sports Council as he heads into his first year of arbitration. The 25 year old Blue Jays outfielder is hitting .245 / .326 / .420 on the year.
- MLBTR reports that Rasmus will likely earn $3M in 2012 based on arbitration rewards for Adam Jones ($3.25M) and BJ Upton ($3M), and remains under Toronto control through 2014.
- Rangers have put Arthur Rhodes on release waivers and he'll be a free agent on Wednesday according to Anthony Andro of Fox Sports. Rhodes, 41, has pitched 24 innings this season, giving up 28 hits and 13 runs, walking 8. Andro further suggests that Rhodes will be signed.
-
Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com floats the idea of the Yankees potentially taking a look at Rhodes since he's limited his LHH opponents to a .216 average.
