Let's keep track of today's minor moves here:

  • The Minnesota Twins designated left-handed pitcher Chuck James for assignment. the club announced via Twitter. The move was made to make room for starting pitcher Liam Hendriks on the 40-man roster, and infielder Matt Tolbert from Class Triple-A Rochester. Baseball America ranks Hendriks as the 6th best prospect in the Twins system.
  • The Florida Marlins designated utility man Alfredo Amezaga for assignment, as reported by Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. Amezaga hit .136/.208/.136 in only 49 plate appearances this season.
  • The Toronto Blue Jays outrighted right-handed reliever P.J. Walters to the minors, according to Barry Davis of Sportsnet. The move was made to accommodate several September call-ups. Walters, acquired in the Colby Rasmus trade, pitched a whooping one inning for the Blue Jays.
  • The New York Yankees outrighted right-handed pitcher Ryan Pope to Class Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, according to Marc Carig of the the Star-Ledger
