Arizona Diamondbacks Interested In Bartolo Colon

The Arizona Diamondbacks don't have a fifth starter yet, but are searching for candidates in-and-outside of the organization. Among them is Bartolo Colon, the free agent starting pitcher who looked rejuvenated last season with the Yankees, according to Jayson Stark of ESPN.

After missing all of 2010, Colon posted a 4.00 ERA across 164 innings of work (26 starts) last season with 7.4 K/9 and 2.2 BB/9. The rejuvenated veteran saw his fastball speed increase a couple of ticks and get quite a bit of movement. It might be risky counting on Colon after last season, however.

Other possible candidates the D'Backs have at hand for the fifth rotation spot is one of their prospects, southpaw Wade Miley. The 25-year-old spent the 2011 season in the minors, but also made seven starts (eight appearances) at the majors last year.
