The San Francisco Giants have re-signed right-handed starters Matt Yourkin and Andrew Kown, according to Giants Nirvana. The move has been confirmed by Giants vice president Bobby Evans, through Mychael Urban of 95.7 FM The Game. Both should appear on the team's list of non-roster invitees for Spring Training.
Yourkin, 30, has spent has last two seasons within the San Francisco Giants organization. Last season, he posted a 2.59 K/BB and 4.69 ERA in 29 starts. The year before, he put up similar numbers, with a 4.24 ERA in 24 starts.
Kown, 29, pitched to a 4.48 ERA in 25 starts in 2011 with the Giants' Triple-A affiliate, the Fresno Grizzlies. His performance earned him a nod to the 2011 Pacific Coast League all-star team.
