The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Carlos Pena, according to Jon Heyman. Just minutes ago rumors were being floated by Tim Brown that the two sides were in talks, and now the deal appears to be done. The deal is for one year and $7.25 million, according to Jon Heyman.
Pena, 33, spent four seasons with Tampa (2007-2010), which were each among his best years, at least in terms of power. While he's a career .239 hitter (wait, he's a CAREER .239 HITTER?), he mashed 46, 31, 39, and 28 home runs while in Tampa, but clearly never for average.
