According to Jon Morosi, the Indians have acquired Kevin Slowey from the Rockies in exchange for Zach Putnam. The Rockies acquired the 27-year old right-hander back in early December, but they have the rotation depth to flip him for a prospect.
Slowey has spent the first five seasons of his career with the Minnesota Twins, where he's posted a 90 ERA+ in over 500 innings, mostly pitching out of the rotation.
Putnam, 24, a right-handed relief prospect, posted a 3.65 ERA and 2.96 K/BB ratio in 69 innings with Triple-A Columbus. He didn't make John Sickels' list of the top 20 Cleveland Indians prospects for 2012, though he was listed among the "others."
