The Detroit Tigers are interested in a potential match-up with Hideki Matsui and Raul Ibanez, according to Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com. The question of who will take the DH slot now that Victor Martinez is out for the season seems to be the biggest in the minds of the Tigers' front office, where Jon Paul Morosi reported earlier that the team was looking at Johnny Damon as well.
Knobler mentions the Tigers were interested in Roy Oswalt, but likely won't (or can't) sign him, and then there's a tidbit from yesterday, where Morosi mentions that Magglio Ordonez may have a market once he's cleared for activity:
- Twitter / @DKnobler - "Tigers have some interest in Matsui, Ibanez, but may be more likely to just wait on adding a Victor replacement."
- Twitter / @DKnobler - "Tigers have also shown interest in Oswalt, but appears unlikely they'll sign him."
- Twitter / @jonmorosi - "Market for Magglio Ordonez should pick up when he's cleared for full activity. Could happen in 2 weeks."
