The Chicago White Sox have signed Scott Olsen to a minor league deal which includes a big league option for 2013, according to Jerry Crasnick.
Olsen, 28, has six seasons in the majors, playing for the Washington Nationals for two and for the then-Florida Marlins for four. He would have played a third year in DC, but was out for 2011 with shoulder problems. He's a career 4.85 ERA pitcher, which actually masks his questionable campaigns in 2009 (6.03 ERA / 63 IP) and 2010 (5.56 ERA / 81 IP).
