The Chicago Cubs have outrighted right-handed pitcher Manny Corpas and he'll be a non-roster invite to Spring Training, according to Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald.
Corpas, 29, missed all of the 2011 season following Tommy John surgery. The sometimes-closer pitched 5 seasons in Colorado, going 12-16 with a 3.93 ERA over 286 innings. Look closer at that ERA, though -- it's somewhat buoyed by his campaign in 2007, in which he was good for a 2.08 ERA over 78 innings. He really hasn't been the same since: 2008/4.52; 2009/5.88, 2010/4.62; 2011/DNP.
The Cubs signed Corpas to a 1-year deal back in December.
