Talks between the Cleveland Indians and free agent infielder Julio Lugo have fallen apart and now no deal is expected, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com.
On the arbitration side, Paul Hoynes says that hearing dates have been set for both Asdrubal Cabrera and Rafael Perez, but notes that the Indians haven't actually had a hearing since 1991.
And in news you knew but didn't want confirmed, Peter Gammons is saying that Roy Oswalt told the Indians he's not interested. If no one else will, I'll speak up for Cleveland fans: "thanks Peter."
