The American League East has been rather quiet this off season, but eyes are always on them. Here are today's rumors from this division.

  • Roch Kubatko from MASN Sports says that the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs discussed a trade involving Alfonso Soriano.
  • Alex Speier from WEEI writes about Bobby Jenks, who is now having his second back surgery since joining the Boston Red Sox. However, he is still likely to pitch at some point in the 2012 season.
  • Rob Neyer from Baseball Nation takes a look at the New York Yankees, and wonders if their pitching staff and payroll could cost them in 2012.
  • DRays Bay, the SBNation Tampa Bay Rays blog, takes a look at last season's Rays DH and sometimes outfielder Johnny Damon, and if the Rays should seriously pursue his services for this upcoming season.
  • Matthew Kory from Over the Monster takes a look at Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis, and if trading him for pitching is possible.
