The Philadelphia Phillies are "wide open" in their search for a third baseman, and they could target free agents Marco Scutaro, Jeff Keppinger and Kevin Youkilis, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:

Rosenthal notes that the Phillies could target the trio mentioned above as "multi-position types." Scutaro and Keppinger can play all over the infield while Youkilis has the ability to man first and third base.

Philadelphia is in the market for a third baseman as veteran Placido Polanco hit free agency following last season. The Phillies are not expected to re-sign Polanco but instead look to other options via free agency and trade.

Youkilis is the only one of the trio Rosenthal mentioned to play more than 100 games at third base last season. Keppinger manned the hot corner for 50 games while also registering at least 19 starts at designated hitter, second base and first base. Scutaro spent a majority of his time at second base last year, and he also played third base and shortstop.
