The Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves and San Francisco Giants are viewed as "being among the teams looking at" free agent outfielder Nick Swisher, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, who adds that the Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers and Philadelphia Phillies are also clubs that could be a match for the switch-hitter:

The Red Sox, Braves and Giants are viewed as being among the teams looking at switch-hitting Nick Swisher.

Heyman says that given the "robust" market for Swisher that’s developing, the free agent appears likely to receive the four-year deal he’s seeking. While he doesn’t have the talent of fellow free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton, Heyman notes that Swisher appeals to teams because he’s a "safer bet."

Boston is said to like Swisher’s versatility, while the Giants and Braves are each in the market for outfielders. Heyman has spoken with executives who see Swisher commanding a contract with an average annual salary of $12 to $14 million per year.

Last season with the New York Yankees Swisher hit .272/.364/.473 with 36 doubles and 24 home runs over 537 at-bats. The 32-year-old owns a career line of .256/.361/.467 over nine seasons at the major league level.
