At 32 years of age, Neshek began the season with the Baltimore Orioles before before being sent to the A's in exchange for cash considerations.
Neshek posted a 1.37 ERA across 19 2/3 innings of work for the A's last season, along with a 2.67 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The right-handed reliever was specifically used against right-handed batters, who hit just .094/.180/.189 in 61 plate appearances.
The Athletics still have six players arbitration eligible, including outfielders Seth Smith and Brandon Moss, and Friday is the deadline to tender players contracts for next season.
