Kyuji Fujikawa rumors: Angels, Cubs, Diamondbacks top choices

The veteran right-hander prefers to pitch for one of the three clubs next season.

Japanese right-hander Kyuji Fujikawa appears to have narrowed down his MLB options for 2013 to three clubs, the Los Angeles Angels, Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks, reports Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times:

Fujikawa, 32, made visits to several clubs over the last few weeks in an attempt to gauge where he might like to pitch next year. An international free agent, Fujikawa is able to sign with any MLB club without going through the typical posting fee procedure, but teams must still adhere to the new collective bargaining agreement’s international spending limits.

The right-handed reliever has pitched for the Hanshin Tigers of the NPB for the past twelve seasons, and owns a stellar 1.36 ERA, 2.3 BB/9 rate and 12.4 K/9 rate in nearly 350 appearances over the past six years.
