The Miami Marlins are in the market for a center fielder this offseason and the team could target players such as free agent Nate McLouth or Los Angeles Angels outfielder Peter Bourjos, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:

Rosenthal notes that the Marlins "would love to trade for" Bourjos, but he considers a deal unlikely. Instead, Miami could opt for a cheaper alternative and sign free agent Nate McLouth.

The Marlins did add veteran Juan Pierre earlier this offseason, but his days of patrolling center on a regular basis are over. Rosenthal notes that Pierre and Giancarlo Stanton are penciled in as the team’s corner outfielders for 2013.

If the Marlins opt to stay in-house or aren’t able to acquire a center fielder via trade or free agency, they could turn to Justin Ruggiano. The 30-year-old hit .313/.374/.535 with 23 doubles and 13 home runs over 288 at-bats last season.
