The Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels are among the teams expressing interest in free agent right-hander Ryan Dempster, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:
Rosenthal adds that Dempster, who spent the 2012 season with the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers, is seeking a three-year deal.
After pitching like one of the best starters in the game over the first half of the season with the Cubs, Dempster tailed off following his trade to the Rangers. Over 16 starts in Chicago the 35-year-old posted an ERA of 2.25, while he finished the season mustering an ugly ERA of 5.09 over 12 starts with the Rangers.
Over 28 combined starts with the Cubs and Rangers last season Dempster maintained an ERA of 3.38. In 15 seasons at the major league level he owns a career ERA of 4.33, and he posted an ERA of 3.74 over his past nine seasons in Chicago.
