Braves rumors: Jair Jurrjens drawing trade interest

Atlanta Braves right-hander Jair Jurrjens is “drawing some trade interest” this offseason.

Atlanta Braves right-hander Jair Jurrjens is "drawing some trade interest" this offseason, reports Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports.

Jurrjens was able to finish last season healthy, something he didn’t manage to do two years ago. However, Morosi says the right-hander isn’t guaranteed a spot in what is a deep Braves’ rotation.

Jurrjens was spectacular to start the 2011 campaign. He faded down the stretch before his season was ended due to injury, but he still finished the year with an ERA of 2.96 over 23 starts spanning 152 innings.

The 26-year-old wasn’t able to replicate his 2011 start last season, as he struggled mightily out of the gate and was eventually demoted to the minors. Over 11 appearances, including 10 starts, at the major league level he maintained an ERA of 6.89. He also started 14 games for the Braves’ Triple-A affiliate, posting an ERA of 4.98 over 72 1/3 innings.
