The Cincinnati Reds have acquired right fielder Shin-Soo Choo from the Cleveland Indians. The Reds also get shortstop Jason Donald from Cleveland in the trade, per Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

The Reds, Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks were the teams in this trade. Choo and Donald go to the Reds while young shortstop Didi Gregorius goes to Arizona from Cincinnati. Going to the Indians are Reds outfielder Drew Stubbs and D'Backs' right-handers Trevor Bauer, Matt Albers, and Bryan Shaw. Left-hander Tony Sipp and first baseman Lars Anderson head from Cleveland to Arizona.

The Choo part of the trade was finalized long before the Arizona and Cleveland portion of the trade, with the teams deciding between Bauer or Patrick Corbin going to Cleveland.

Choo had long been rumored to be traded away from the Indians, and now they have added three pitchers and an outfielder while the Diamondbacks ended up with a shortstop, relief pitcher and first baseman who has seen time at the big league level.

The Indians still have several trade chips with which to work, if they so choose. The club has been aggressively shopping shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera all offseason, while pitchers Justin Masterson and Vinnie Pestano are believed to be available.
