The Mariners designated Robles for assignment last week to create room on their 40-man roster for outfielder Jason Bay.
Robles spent the 2012 season playing between the Mariners’ Double- and Triple-A squads. Over 37 appearances, including one start, at the Double-A level he posted an ERA of 4.09. The 23-year-old didn’t fare as well with Seattle’s Triple-A club, as he allowed 23 runs on 21 hits and 22 walks with 19 strikeouts over 21 innings.
Combined between the Double- and Triple-A levels last season Robles maintained an ERA of 5.78 over 71 2/3 innings with 8.7 strikeouts and a whopping 7.9 walks per nine innings. Over seven seasons in the minors he’s posted an ERA of 4.15 with 9.4 strikeouts and 5.3 walks per nine innings.
