Victorino Notes: Red Sox in the lead

The Shane Victorino market is heating up, with the Red Sox and Indians leading the way.

Boston has optimism regarding a 3-year contract with Shane Victorino, reports Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

Red Sox front runners on Shane Victorino. Offered three year $38 mill deal.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports adds that the deal being discussed is reportedly for $37.5 million.

There appears to be a third team in the mix, but Jon Heyman is not sure what team that is.

Victorino appears to be down to 3 teams, the indians, red sox and a 3rd team. not a true mystery team, I just don't know it

The outfielder was traded at last year's deadline to the Los Angeles Dodgers, he had played 6 full seasons prior to that with the Phillies, winning the World Series with them in 2008.

Victorino, 32, hit .255/.321/.383 for the Phillies and Dodgers last season, while stealing 39 bases. He made $9.5 million dollars.
