Signings / Acquisitions

• The Houston Astros claimed right-handed pitcher Mickey Storey off of waivers from the Yankees.
• The Oakland A’s sent minor leaguer Graham Godfrey to the Red Sox to complete their trade for Sandy Rosario.

Ongoing Rumors

• Astros are new to the American League and they are looking to add a designated hitter now that they have the need. Bringing back Lance Berkman could be an option, as well as Travis Hafner and Carlos Pena, according to Jon Heyman.
• The Rangers are hoping to trade Michael Young to the Phillies for prospects and some salary relief and it appears he could approve the trade today.
• The Rangers appear to the front runner for Zack Greinke now that the Dodgers are feeling less optimistic about their chances. If they do sign Greinke, they would likely move on from free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton and focus on trading for Justin Upton.
• The Mariners and Rangers have been connected to a potential blockbuster multi-team trade involving the at least two other clubs and Seattle appears to be the one holding up at least one version of the rumored mega-deal. The rumored deal would send pitcher Derek Holland to the Mariners for an unknown return and could potentially mean the Rangers would get Justin Upton from the Diamondbacks.
• The Mariners have spoken to the White Sox about trading prospects for Dayan Viciedo, but the signing of Jason Bay has slowed those talks.
