Adam Kilgore from the Washington Post writes about how Washington Nationals GM Mike Rizzo addressed the media today, and talked about the potential extension with third baseman Ryan Zimmerman. Rizzo said;

"I don't have a real good idea on the deadline, whether it'll get done or not," Rizzo said. "We're continuing to try."

The two sides had set this Saturday as a deadline on extension talks, as to not be a distraction as the season starts up. Rizzo said the deadline would not stop him from talking to Zimmerman's agent, Brodie Van Wagenen. Van Wagenen is in Nationals camp right now, possibly to help work out a deal before the deadline.

He also represents Nationals John Lannan and Drew Storen. The Nationals have been trying to extend their star offensive player all off season, and it seems like talks will be coming to an end, one way or the other, soon.
