According to MLB.com, the Milwaukee Brewers are working on signing closer John Axford to a multi-year deal. Axford, 28, is a Super Two, meaning he has four years of arbitration eligibility (2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016). The 28 year old right-hander has saved 70 games over the past two seasons, and led the National League in 2011 (46 saves). Even more impressive: he has a 182 ERA+ in 132 innings over that span, and has accumulated 4.7 wins above replacement (Baseball Reference).
As of now, Axford is the only player on the Brewers' 40 man roster who has yet to sign a contract for the 2012 season.
