Washington Nationals Weekend Update: Jackson, Lannon, Durbin

If you were asleep this week -- or just busy like most people -- you may not have noticed that the Washington Nationals finally landed a big free agent: Edwin Jackson. They also won their arbitration case over John Lannan and have since begun shopping Lannan, and they signed Chad Durbin to a minor league contract:

  Free-agent starting pitcher and the Washington Nationals have agreed to a deal.

  Hours after winning the arbitration case over John Lannan, the Washington Nationals are now shopping him according to Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal. Rosenthal says that they're looking to unload Lannan and could be targeting Roy Oswalt or Edwin Jackson.

  The arbitration panel deciding the Washington Natonals/John Lannan case has ruled in favor of the team, according to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post. Lannan had requested $5.7 million, but the team offered and now only has to pay $5 million.

• Washington Nationals Sign Chad Durbin To Minor League Contract - MLB Daily Dish
  The Washington Nationals have signed relief pitcher Chad Durbin to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN. Last year, Durbin landed a Major League contract with the Cleveland Indians in March but struggled for most of the season.
