The Washington Nationals have signed Mark Teahen to a minor league contract, according to the team. The deal comes with an invite to Spring Training.
Adam Kilgore notes that Teahen could make a case for himself on the bench, while Mark Zuckerman points out that while he does have a career slash of .264 / .327 / .409 and could be utilized in numerous positions (left/right field, third base, first base), he did only hit .200 last season in 78 games. What Zuckerman doesn't point out is that the Nationals probably already have that guy somewhere in their org and are already paying him.
